Pairing: Nick/Lance/Justin

Disclaimer:This is fiction for entertainment purposes only. Not to be taken seriously nor am I making assumptions on the lives and sexual practices of these men.
Warning: Slash warning. Bigroupal warning.

Notes:Came out of nowhere. Just got the idea and wrote. I hope it makes at least some sense. Inspired by one of my favourite songs, Bizarre Love Triangle by Frente (as opposed to the New Order version, I like the Frente version better). If it sucks, be kind. The muses are all sorts of whack right now and I'm taking what I can get! And please, no "Justin's an asshole' emails. He wasn't written to be a selfish egotistical asshole. So if you're gonna bash him, don't do it to me!

Bizarre. That was the only word to describe the relationship. It was truly the most bizarre relationship that he had ever been in, and would probably ever be in in the future. Nick didn't give a shit about what other people thought. How they perceived him because he knew they didn't have a clue. They knew nothing about him or his lifestyle, so their opinions didn't matter. No one's mattered except for those that were closest to him. And Justin was closest to him. Justin was probably the closest person to him in the world. Well, besides Lance of course. It was probably a tie as to who was closer. Who mattered more. But it was a tie that none of them were all too worried about breaking.

Justin had never lied about anything. Nor was he ashamed of who he was. He made no promises and gave no apologies. When he and Nick hooked up that first time, he made it perfectly clear that he was also fucking Lance. Regularly. Britney too, but not as frequently and to be honest, not as enthusiastically. Britney was more for appearances than anything else. The way he lived his life was something that he informed them of regularly so they wouldn't mix love and sex. The last thing he needed was someone wanting more than he could give. Justin didn't do exclusive relationships. It wasn't what he was looking for.

So the basic rules had been laid out and Nick was given the option to continue or count his losses and go. Nick wasn't all that interested in strings and long term anyways. He'd tried that with Brian and gotten burned. Where Nick had been in it for the long haul, Brian was passing time and his heart had been shattered pretty ruthlessly. All Nick wanted from Justin was to get laid, so the younger man's credo was fine with him.

Nick knew about Lance and Lance knew about Nick. And Lance and Nick knew about everyone else Justin was with. Not that there were a lot, there weren't. But if Justin wanted, there could be. On the other hand, Nick and Lance were free to indulge in their own extra curriculars. In all instances, there was an open door policy.

Eventually, Nick had stopped looking elsewhere. He saw Justin every once in a while, and while he would have rathered it be more frequent, it was all he wanted. Justin was all he wanted. In the meantime, Justin had informed him that Lance too stopped seeing other people, making Justin his exclusive lover as well. Nick didn't exactly know why he wasn't threatened by that news, but he wasn't. He couldn't blame Lance for wanting only Justin when he knew exactly how it felt.

It probably should have been awkward for him when he and Lance ran into each other at functions, but it wasn't. In fact, it might have made things less awkward between them. Justin was their connection, their common bond, and when they would see each other, they tended to gravitate towards each other. Justin wasn't their main topic of conversation, oddly enough. They just tended to get to know each other, little by little. Both men were just slightly curious as to what Justin saw in the other. What it was about them that had captured Justin's attention for so long. Nick studied the other man and slowly saw what Justin loved about Lance.

And he did. Nick knew Justin loved Lance, even if he didn't exactly say it in so many words. Nick could see it in Justin's eyes when they spoke about him, in the tenderness of his voice and the way his breathing would hitch. What Nick didn't know ...couldn't know, was that Lance saw the same thing when Justin talked about him.

Slowly, Nick began to notice that Justin's attention was focusing. That he was becoming exclusive. Well, as exclusive as Justin could be. Gone were his meaningless flings, gone were his random fucks with nameless, faceless people. He had pretty much become faithful to both Nick and Justin, informing them that he

wouldn't choose between them. COULDN'T choose. His explanation was that he needed them both. Couldn't live without either of them and if they had a problem with that, they would have to be the one to leave. Nick and Lance were just so different from each other and he, dare he say the word, loved them both.

Nick knew that this was as close as he was going to get to any semblance of a normal relationship with Justin. He didn't care. Justin in his life in any way was better than no Justin, so he would take what he could get. And if that meant sharing him with Lance, then so be it. According to Justin, Lance had decided the same thing. And it was settled. They were in a relationship. A bizarre love triangle relationship, but a relationship none the less. Nick had never been more happy in his life, and it had never occurred to him what other people would say. How they would feel about it. When his band mates found out, they wondered if he'd gone crazy, but if he had, crazy felt better than anything in the world. Nothing could compare to the feel of Justin pressed against him tightly, their bodies entwined. Or the sound of Justin's voice, first thing in the morning. Or how it felt the first time Justin had told him he loved him. Nothing anyone could say could take that away from him, and for that, he didn't care what they thought.

Nick had never once thought about what this meant for him and Lance. It was always easy to forget everything when he was with Justin, the younger man having that type of effect on him. It wasn't until one night when he received a phone call at midnight that everything came to a head. His CD was just about to drop with Justin's to be released a week later. Both groups were on hiatus and everything was topsey turvey. Lance was officially not going to space and Justin and Nick were in a head to head, fake media battle. Where NSYNC was behind Justin and his solo efforts 110%, Backstreet had practically exiled Nick. They had given him the cold shoulder and all but kicked him out of the group.

Nick was in New York for promotion. He knew that Justin was somewhere with Lance, spending much needed time together. And as much as Nick needed his lover, needed his reassurance and love, he knew that Lance needed him more. While Lance had been in Russia, Nick had had Justin all to himself, and so it was hard for him to begrudge the other man this time with their lover. The sting of disappointment was minute compared to the hurt of betrayal by his brothers. It was at that thought the phone rang.

It was the concierge phoning, indicating that he had two guests wondering if they could come up to visit. Upon hearing that one of the guests was Justin, Nick immediately allowed the concierge to tell them his room number and allow them up. The fact that the man had mentioned guests, as in plural didn't escape Nick's attention and he'd wondered who Justin had brought with him. Nick thought maybe it was Aaron, knowing how much he needed loving support right now. Instead, he opened the door to find Justin and Lance beaming at him, looking freshly tanned. Nick felt his heart skip a beat. Or three.

The two men entered Nick's room as if it were the most natural thing in the world. And honestly, it felt that way to Nick as well. He'd asked what they were doing there and in reply Lance made himself comfortable on the bed while Justin kissed Nick hello.

Really kissed him.

Lance barely flinched.

Nick blushed.

"Lance wanted to come see you. Make sure you're all right because you sounded really rough on the phone when I talked to you earlier. Your boys have abandoned you entirely, so we're here to remind you that you're loved." Nick turned to look at Lance in question, only to see him grin and nod. It occurred to Nick in that exact second that they had never all been together in the same room when they weren't working. It felt oddly ...settling.

That was the night that things changed between the three of them. It had started out innocent enough, all three curled up on Nick's king sized bed with Justin in the middle. It was natural for the to be positioned like that, Justin the buffer between Nick and Lance. The common bond between the two. They'd spent a few hours just talking about everything and anything. They discussed space, solo albums, Justin and each other. Nothing was off limits. They would all agree that it was Lance that got everything rolling.

"We're here for operation 'support Nick because his group are selfish assholes' and Justin's getting all the love here." Lance grinned at Justin and then Nick, his green eyes twinkling. Nick hadn't known what Lance meant, but Justin did. He then kissed Nick softly, followed by Lance before crawling over and putting Nick in the middle. Lance immediately scooted closer, and Nick found himself in an NSYNC sandwich. "Hey." Lance's voice was low causing Nick's skin to break out in goose bumps. He could barely reply.

"Hi."

"Wanna know something?" Lance's lips was brushing against Nick's jaw, his breath ghosting on Nick's skin. Nick's eyes fluttered shut as he nodded. Justin's moan echoed through the room. "I've always wondered

why we've never ....I mean, I've with Justin. And you've ...with Justin ...but we've never.."

"And it's not like there wasn't the open door policy." Justin's tongue danced across the back of Nick's neck. "You've had plenty of opportunity, but haven't. And if I might say, you're both the best fucks that I've ever had, so I can just imagine how good you two would be together."

Nick opened his eyes and tilted his head back to look at his lover. Their lips met in a passionate kiss that told him everything he needed to know to proceed. When the kiss broke, Nick turned to face Lance, captivated by his eyes. Lance spoke first. "So why haven't we gotten together? What's taken us so long?"

Nick licked his lips and replied with, "I don't know."

As Lance leaned forward, Nick knew that would be the moment to change their lives forever. After this, there was no going back. He was right.

Somehow, their clothes managed to end up in a pile on the floor, their bodies tangled with each other. Hands clutched, mouths sucked, tongues tasted. It was a night of exploration of new love and reaffirmation of old love. Hours passed before the three men were once again curled around each other, this time Lance in the middle.

Nick's mind didn't stop whirring afterwards and he's unable to believe that he's actually laying there in that hotel bed, curled behind Lance with Justin on Lance's other side. It's strange, but a good strange. His grip tightens on Justin's hand subconciously. He never thought himself to be someone interested in a polygamous relationship. Fucking more than one person at a time was one thing, but love ....emotions ...that was something entirely else. But laying there in bed with these two men It felt more right than anything else in his life.

"How are you doing babe?" Lance says and Nick can feel it through his whole body. It takes him a few moments to realize that Lance is talking to him, not Justin. He blushes and burrows his head further in the pillow. He feels lips skating over his chest with just a hint of tongue teasing him. "Is that an okay or a not okay?"

Nick smiles into the pillow. "Fantastic." He exhales and opens his eyes to see Lance watching him with a wistful expression on his face. Their gazes lock and in that moment, any doubt is gone. With open eyes, their lips meet and they kiss, tenative and gentle.

"Now that's what I like to see. My boys getting along." Justin's voice broke through the silence, his chin resting on Lance's shoulder. The kiss ended and Justin leaned in to capture both of their lips' for a kiss of his own.

Two years later, Nick can honestly say that he'd never expected things to turn out the way they had. For his relationship with Justin to have remained as strong as it always was, but also for his relationship with Lance to blossom as much as it had. What started out as two men brought together by their love of the same man, turned into a love of it's own. Something that even Justin hadn't anticipated. Something that none of them could exactly identify, but were thankful for none the less.

Bizarre.

One night in bed, Lance had been playing with Justin's curls with his head resting on Nick's chest. The three men laying together not speaking, but enjoying the comfort of each other. "Bizarre."

"Huh?" Justin raised his head to look at the older man, his eyes questioning.

"Today Joey and I were talking about us. The three of us and I asked him what he *really* thought about it. I don't want the bull shit they've been feeding us since the beginning, the false support."

"And?" Nick held his breath as he waited for Lance to answer. He'd asked his guys that exact same question and was met with some not so favourable answers. Howie going as far as to yell obscenities at him, wondering how the hell he'd fucked up his life so badly. Nick had wondered if Howie was overcompensating for hidden feelings. Trying too hard to disguise his jealousy. He hadn't let it bother him TOO much.

"All he said was that it's bizarre. WE'RE bizarre."

Nick smiled, he'd always liked their guys better than his own. They seemed more ...forgiving and supportive. Something he hadn't realized he needed so badly until it was given to him unconditionally.

Justin giggled, Lance chuckled and Nick sighed. "Bizarre love triangle." He whispered against the top of Lance's head. Justin's hand tightened on his hip while Lance softly kissed his chest. Nothing wrong with a

little geometry every once in a while.
