Scavenger Hunting
by Jules

Justin waited for Nick's car to be down the street and out of sight before he sprang into action. He had about two hours to get everything ready and wanted it to be perfect. For it to work, he couldn't be anywhere near the house. Or the houses of their friends either. Justin sped up the stairs and got the 8 envelopes ready, feeling the butterflies jump in his stomach. They had talked and talked and talked about what they were going to do for their birthdays and neither had come to an agreement. Nick wanted to do one thing while Justin wanted to do another. Finally, the week before they had come to an agreement that they would enjoy a peaceful, relaxing few days alone. Just the two of them. Left to their own devises to see what fun they could find.

Justin wasn't all too excited about that. So instead, he took matters upon himself and went ahead planning their birthdays. He'd enlisted the help of Aaron, Nick's younger brother to distract him while he got things ready. It was two days before Nick's birthday and if all went to plan, they'd be leaving that night for a romantic week away. He just hoped that all went to plan.

Once Nick's house had been adequately set up, Justin took one last look and giggled, grabbing the envelopes and a box of supplies. He drove the short distance to Chris' house, smiling at his best friend upon arrival. "Dude.. Are you ready?"

Chris nodded, letting Justin in the house. "Does he have any clue?"

"None. I wanted it to be a surprise. He's with AC right now and should be back to his place by about 2ish." Justin checked his watch. So he'll probably be here shortly after that. Justin handed Chris the envelope with his name on it along with an item he'd grabbed from the box. "When he answers the question right ..."Justin paused to give Chris a stern look. "And he only gets it if he answers it right. Don't be giving in if he pouts." Chris managed a hearty laugh at that, knowing that Justin knew his lover like the back of his hand and Nick would definitely try whatever it took to get what he wanted. "You will give him both the envelope and this." The two men said their goodbyes and Chris gave his best friend a hug.

"Have a good time Jup. And Happy Birthday."

"Thanks C."Justin said, heading back towards his car. He drove the distance to AJ's house, giving him the same instructions. One by one, he drove to both of their best friends' houses, handing each an envelope and an item from the box he had brought, stopping lastly at Lance's. Lance was the only one of the guys that Justin had told where they were going. Of course, everyone had been more than happy to help him with Nick's game, but they were only told as much as they needed to know. That Nick was to answer whatever question was in the envelope, (the guys were only given the answer, not the question so they in turn had no idea what Nick was actually asking), answer it right and be given the item that Justin gave them to present to Nick. In the envelope, a sheet of paper contained the question, a note of how much Justin loved Nick and the name of the next person he was supposed to see. Unless he had the items collected from the other houses, the person in question wasn't supposed to give Nick the envelope. Each of their friends knew what their own gift was for Nick as well as the gift of the person before them, so he couldn't fake his way through things to get to where he would ultimately end up.

When Nick answered Lance's question correctly, he was to give the older man the keys to his car and Lance would drive him to the secret location, blindfolded of course so he wouldn't have any idea of where he was going. Lance was going to keep Nick's car with him until they returned. Justin had thought of everything.

"What do you think he's going to say?"Lance had asked as he walked Justin to his car. He watched Justin take a deep breath and stretch.

"I have no idea. He was pretty pissed, although he wouldn't admit it, that I nixed all of his ideas for how to celebrate this year. What he didn't know was that I just wanted to know what he wanted to do and then surprise him with it..."

"You think he might be pissed?"

Justin shrugged. "It's definitely a possibility. But I don't know. I think that no matter what we do, as long as we're together we'll be fine."The two men shared a look and Justin felt a jolt of excitement course through his body. There was an awkward moment of silence before Lance pulled him close and gave him a tight hug. "Happy birthday Jus."Lance reached up to ruffle Justin's short curls. "And have fun."

Justin flashed him a wink and a grin, climbing into his car. Once he'd said goodbye, Justin headed towards the final clue's destination, anxious as he saw the clock on the dashboard. It was nearly 2 and no call yet. Just as that thought flashed through his mind his cell came to life, ringing loudly on the seat beside him. "Yeah?"

"J? Is AC. He just dropped me off so he's on his way home."

Justin felt the butterflies in his stomach. "Good. Thanks again buddy."Justin pulled off of the highway and saw the large building come into view. Things were going right on schedule.

"No problem. It was good to see him since I won't get to see him on his birthday. Have a great trip."

"Thanks. Does he suspect?"

"Doesn't have a clue. I had to talk him out of renting a whole bunch of DVDs and video games for this week. He figured that since you two were just going to chill at the house he'd stock up. So definitely doesn't know."

Justin smiled at Aaron's admission glad to know that Nick didn't know about the surprise. He always seemed to have this way in finding out whatever it was you were hiding, even when he didn't know you were hiding something. Justin pulled in to park and told Aaron goodbye and that he would see him when they returned. At around 2:20 his phone rang again.

"Mission 2 accomplished."Came Chris' voice making Justin laugh.

"Mission 2? Wasn't that mission 1?"

"Wasn't the clue at your house mission 1?"

Justin laughed again, garnering the attention of those around him. He quickly quieted down thankful that there weren't a lot of people around. "True that C. Okay, so he's on his way to AJ's..."

Ten minutes later another call came. "Your boy just left. He's pretty good. Knew the answer to whatever the question was in no time flat."

Justin could only smile.

One by one the phone calls came, each telling him the same thing. Nick was extremely curious as to what the hell was going on, excited because it was fun and Justin had gone through all this trouble for him and frustrated when no one could tell him anything except for the fact that he was supposed to go to the next person's house and do the same thing. No they didn't know what it was leading up to, and no they didn't know what else was going on. But they were impressed that Nick knew without a doubt the answer to the question he'd been asked. That alone made everything worth while for Justin. What he had asked were just basic questions regarding their relationship. Where they had gone their first official date, the day that they'd first kissed, when and where it was that they'd told each other 'I love you'. Things like that, and from what the guys had said, Nick knew it all without even having to think about it. With each phone call that came, Justin fell more and more in love with Nick, certain that he'd made the right decision.

His phone rang one last time and Justin looked down at the call display. It was Nick's number. Shocked, he felt his heart in his throat. "H..hello?"Oh god he hoped nothing was wrong. He felt overwhelming relief when he heard Lance's voice.

"Hey mom. Just wanted to let you know that everything's great."

Justin stifled a giggle. "What the fuck?"

"Sorry I didn't call you back earlier but I was busy with a friend."

"Does he know?"

"No mom... No idea."Justin heard Lance giggle and started to giggle himself. "But I've got to go, just didn't want to make you worry. I know how you get."

"Fuck you Bass. Just bring my man here now."

"Yeah yeah. I know."Justin heard Nick in the background asking where they were going, for what Justin figured was probably the millionth time. "Gimme a kiss mom and I'll let you go."

Justin groaned, vowing to kill Lance when he saw him next. "Screw you."

"Oh mom, what kind of language is that for your favourite son. Now tell me you love me and gimme a kiss."

"No."

"Oh.. I think I might have missed my exit... shit... I guess I'll just have to go back home."Justin could hear the teasing tone in Lance's voice and squealed.

"FINE FINE! I love you Lance."With that, he blew loud kisses into his receiver, once again garnering strange looks from the people around him. "Now fucking get him here Lance or the real Mama Bass isn't going to be getting any grandchildren from her favourite son.

"Shit.. no need to be a prick about it."

"You shouldn't talk to your mother like that Lance. It's poor manners."Justin heard Nick scold and laughed.

"Yeah. That's right."

Lance muttered a few expletives under his breath and hung up. With a glance to his watch, Justin was able to relax, knowing that they would arrive in plenty of time. Twenty minutes later Justin saw movement out of the corner of his eye. His pulse started to race as he saw Lance leading Nick through the VIP section so that no one would recognize them. Due to Justin's pull, they were now alone in the secluded area, guaranteed absolute privacy. He flashed Lance a smile and beckoned them to where he had been waiting.

"Lance? Where the fuck are we?"Nick whined, pouting his lower lip out. Justin held back a groan and stifled his laughter.

"God... how does Justin put up with you. I mean shit Nick."Lance teased causing Nick to pout even more. Justin held up his hand for Lance to step away and moved in, standing directly in front of his lover. Without alerting him, Justin stepped in and took Nick's lower lip between his teeth, sucking gently. At first he could feel Nick instantly react, moving to push him away, but as Nick's hands moved up and came into contact with his chest, he realized that it wasn't Lance. Justin took that opportunity to cover Nick's entire mouth with his own, taking advantage of Nick's mouth which was open and thrusting his tongue inside.

Nick recognized Justin's taste almost instantly and fell into the kiss, feeling an overwhelming sense of relief. He wasn't sure how he would have dealt with it had it been Lance who had just up and kissed him, but knowing that it was his lover was a whole other story. "Jus..."he moaned, burying his face in Justin's neck. Their arms were wrapped tightly around one another and Justin felt goose bumps appear on his skin. "Where are we baby? What's this all about?"

"Happy Birthday."Even through the blindfold, Justin could see the surprise on Nick's face and giggled, winking at Lance. He could tell that at first Nick hadn't known who it was kissing him. It had been amazing to watch him reject the kiss, that one movement solidifying their love for one another.

Nick's heart was pounding, his pulse racing. He still had the blindfold on but could hear people around them. They were somewhere public, but still Justin had kissed him. He trusted the younger man enough to know what was safe and what wasn't, and thus wasn't worried at all at their obviously public display of affection. He heard Justin speak to Lance.

"Thanks again Lance. I owe you big time."Justin's hand slid effortlessly into Nick's, their fingers entwining together. He took Nick's bag of presents from Lance's hand placing it beside them.

"Don't worry about it Jup. It was my pleasure."

"Don't forget... no one knows where we are. NO ONE. Not even you."

Nick heard the low rumble of Lance's laugh and shivered. "I know kid. Now go. Have a good time. Enjoy yourselves."

Justin nodded, giving Lance a half hug. Turning to Nick, Lance did the same to him, slightly startling him. "Happy Birthday Carter."

"Thanks Lance."

Within a few moments they were alone, silence enveloping them. Nick shifted nervously from foot to foot and Justin simply stood and stared at him, amazed at how beautiful he was.

"You wanna take off the blindfold now?"Justin asked. He saw Nick shrug, biting his lip nervously.

"I don't want it to ruin anything."

Justin laughed softly, leaning up to kiss Nick's lips. "Okay.. just 5 minutes then."He led Nick to the gate, giving the woman in front of them both passports. She winked at Justin and allowed them through to the small plane that was waiting on the strip. Once they had made it on board, Justin settled them both into their seats and turned to Nick. "I'm proud of you baby."He leaned forward to place a trail of kisses on his lover's neck. "You definitely deserve a reward."His hand made it to Nick's groin, stroking him gently. Nick's head fell back and he allowed for a soft moan to escape his lips.

Nick hated flying with a passion. Justin knew this, but it was unavoidable. So he thought that maybe if he diverted Nick's attention elsewhere, it wouldn't be as bad for him. Plus he didn't know they were on a plane, so that would definitely help his case. The stewardess for the small plane stuck her head in to nod at Justin, notifying him that they were about to start the take off. He nodded back and watched her put up the privacy curtain again so as to leave them alone. Once he was sure she was gone, Justin slowly undid Nick's jeans and slid his hand in. He covered Nick's mouth with his own and began to kiss him, as his hand started to pump his shaft. As much as he would have wanted to be able to give him a blow job instead, he had to keep his seat belt on, so this was going to have to do. As the plane started to pick up speed, so did Justin, his hand moving in quick jerky motions, his mouth sucking on Nick's tongue furiously.

It was amazing really, how just as they'd left the ground Justin gave one hard tug and Nick came, screaming into Justin's mouth as his whole body began to convulseAll it took was feeling Nick, hearing him reach his climax, Justin felt himself let go as well, cumming in his boxers. That was definitely unplanned. He continued to milk Nick's limping cock until he had reached the conclusion of his orgasm. Justin stood up and grabbed his bag from the overhead compartment. He headed towards the mini bathroom changed his pants and found a cloth. After getting it damp and washing his hand thoroughly, he returned to Nick and cleaned him up, refastening his jeans and kissing hislips softly.

"Holy shit J."Nick breathed, his mind swimming. "That was... fucking... I can't even explain it!"

Justin laughed, knowing that some of what Nick had felt was due to the plane taking off.

"I've never been that relaxed during take off."Justin's smile fell from his face, his eyes bugging open wide. With that, he reached over and took Nick's blindfold off, seeing a smirk on the blonde's face.

"You knew?"Justin pouted, waiting for Nick's eyes to adjust to the harsh light after being in darkness for so long.

"I've been on enough planes to know what it's like when a plane takes off J. Although damn, I don't think it was all due to that..."Nick picked up Justin's hand and softly kissed it, sucking two fingers into his mouth suggestively. When he saw the disapointement in Justin's eyes he softly kissed him.

"It wasn't until we started moving that I knew where we were.. well not WHERE.. but on what. Although what you were doing to my cock.. I didn't care where we were or what was going on... Fuck you're so good at that...making me cum..."He leaned in to kiss Justin with more power, licking everywhere in his mouth that he could reach. With one movement, he pulled the younger man onto his lap so that he was straddling him, their foreheads resting against each other.

"Surprise baby. Happy birthday."Justin said, waving his arms around.

"What's going on? I don't have anything with me!"

"I packed for both of us. I knew what we'd need so..."Justin relaxed against Nick, relieved that he didn't seem upset. "I wanted to surprise you, so I had you tell me where you wanted to go for our birthdays.... And then I set up the whole thing today.."

Nick saw Justin blushed and grinned, leaning in to kiss his forehead. "You're amazing baby. Absolutely amazing."

"You're not mad?"

Nick shook his head. "Of course not. I can't believe you went through all this trouble."

They kissed softly, Justin disputing the trouble that it took. "It wasn't trouble. I just wanted it to be special for you. A surprise. So I just had the guys hold onto the envelope and present for you..."Justin saw Nick's eyes light up at the presents that he'd gotten. All small things but meaningful for them. A rare comic book at Chris', a video game at AJ's, jersey's at Brian's... and so forth. I know that it's not technically your birthday, but I just thought it would be fun to have you work for your presents..."Justin giggled at the excited look on Nick's face. "But.. that's not it you know. I do have more for you to open then so..."

Justin saw the twinkle in Nick's eye and felt his stomach flip. They sat together like that for a little while, enjoying the comfort of their lover's embrace. "So..."Nick said, breaking the silence. Justin lifted his head from where it had been resting on Nick's chest. "Where ARE we going?"He simply saw a twinkle in Justin's eyes, a grin on his face.
